Comments from attendees at the 2006 Marine Parents Conference
    • "Renewing, affirming, caring and low-key. The balance was so well done. All the folks involved should feel like the new Marines at their warrior breakfast. OOHRAH." --Shellie

    • "It really has been an incredible weekend! The connection and bond of everyone at the Conference is phenomenal -- it can't be described. One Marine who attended dinner said he had no idea there was so much support out here." --Diane

    • "What a wonderful weekend in Houston at the conference!!!! We've reserved the weekend next year already. St. Louis is only 60 minutes flying time from Dallas Love Field, and the tickets are cheap right now. Margaret and I talked late into the evening Sunday and yesterday about the people we were privileged to meet. We felt completely at home with everyone, as if we had just seen them last month. Yet, most we only met Friday and Saturday. THIS IS TRULY FAMILY, FOLKS!" --Ken and Margaret

    • "This year's conference was really well done. Meeting and talking with the authors and speakers were great. The events were very informative. However, the best part was being with other Marine parents -- people who understand what it's like to have a child in the Corps. My wife and I rarely encounter other military families so this was a great experience for us. Our thanks go to those who organized this year's event. We'll look forward to seeing you next year." --George

    • "I feel so blessed to have attended the conference. It was very emotional, inspirational, motivating and just plain wonderful! Everyone needs to start saving for next year. I am so proud to be a Marine mom and to be a part of this wonderful organization. It's going to take a while to absorb all the honor, courage and comittment I witnessed this weekend. God bless you all and GOD BLESS OUR MARINES!" --Dorothy

    • "The conference was absolutely wonderful and the people were amazing. Tracy Della Vecchia has really built a special group and it was evidenced in part by the top military brass who attended and told their stories...like Col. Bryan McCoy, Lt. Col. Benjamin Blankenship, Lt. Col. Bill Cowan, Ret., Navy Chaplain Lt. Carey Cash, and Rear Admiral Platt, Ret., the inventor of the newer, better tasting MEAL..Ready-to-Eat, formerly known as MRE's, formerly known as C-rations! The authors/journalists and photographers who have been embedded with the various Marine battalions told their stories and shared their photos...very powerful stuff...Michael Phillips, John Koopman, Chuck Dean, Lucian Read, Lt. Cash, thank you for all you have done to bring our Marine's stories to the world. I have a feeling I'm forgetting to mention alot of people who spoke." --Barbara
